Job Summary:

This is a hybrid position involving aircraft maintenance and avionics ground/flight testing.  The person in this position will be responsible for maintenance of the company aircraft used for flight testing new avionics and will also assist with avionics ground and flight testing.

 

Job Duties:

·        Perform routine maintenance activities on company aircraft.

·        Install, configure, maintain, and remove avionics equipment.

·        Coordinate and oversee any major maintenance activities performed by contractors.

·        Maintain aircraft maintenance records.

·        Assist company pilots and engineers with avionics ground and flight testing.

·        Develop test fixtures for ground testing avionics equipment.

·        Review technical documents.

·        Perform collateral duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

·        FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airplane and Powerplant Ratings is required.  Inspection Authorization is strongly preferred.

·        Five or more years of general aviation aircraft maintenance experience is required.

·        Five or more years of avionics installation and line maintenance is required.

·        Ability to troubleshoot avionics squawks to the LRU level is required.

·        FAA Private or Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating is preferred.

·        Prior flight experience is required.  Candidate must be comfortable performing in-flight avionics testing and data collection.

·        Ability to work in diverse, cross-functional teams is required.

·        Valid Driver’s license is required.

 

Education:

·        High School diploma or GED is required.

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:

 

  • Standing and sitting for extended periods of time,
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds in a safe and prudent manner,
  • Ability to work and communicate well with other employees and management, customers, visitors, vendors.
  • Ability to perform work utilizing manual dexterity of the hands,
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach above and below shoulders, and full use of upper extremities,
  • Ability to easily move through an approximately 25,000 square foot warehouse building,
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English,
  • Correctable vision and hearing.
