Summary

The Mechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling precision liquid measurement equipment and related subassemblies in a manufacturing environment. Working from engineering drawings, bills of material, and work instructions, this position performs mechanical assembly of components and systems used in the oil and gas industry.

The Mechanical Assembly Technician works as part of the Production team to build high-quality products through various stages of assembly, from individual components and subassemblies through final product integration. Success in this role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, safe work practices, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and bills of material
  • Use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and shop equipment to complete assembly work
  • Operate forklift and overhead crane equipment as trained
  • Verify parts and completed assemblies for accuracy and quality
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Work collaboratively with team members, leads, engineering, and quality personnel
  • Support production schedules and continuous improvement efforts

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how components fit and function within larger assemblies
  • Ability to logically determine assembly methods, hardware, and tooling requirements
  • Experience using hand and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, and cutters
  • Ability to accurately use measuring tools including measuring tapes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and Office, and Adobe PDF
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safe work practices and following established procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mechanical assembly, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, industrial, fabrication, or related experience
  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment
  • Technical school, vocational training, or related mechanical experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and lifting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
