Summary The Quality Control Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the Quality Control (QC) program for UPW construction projects to ensure compliance with contract requirements, applicable codes and standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. This role works closely with project teams, subcontractors, and inspectors to deliver projects that meet required quality, schedule, and cost objectives. Reporting Relationships The Quality Control Manager reports to the Quality Control Senior Manager. Major Duties and Responsibilities Quality Management & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Control Plan (QCP) Ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes (e.g., OSHA, IBC, ACI, AWS, ASME, DVS) Mechanical/ plastic welding and metal welding perform inspections and tests on products or materials to ensure quality standards are met. Review construction drawings, submittals, and shop drawings for quality requirements Monitor construction activities to confirm installation and workmanship meet approved standards Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues. Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements. Planning and execution of QC activities in a project Inspection & Testing Document inspection results and maintain accurate records, including weld log, welder test, pressure test, material receiving and other mechanical inspection reports. Coordinate and oversee inspections and testing (ITT), including third-party testing agencies Conduct site inspections and quality audits during all phases of construction Schedule and Coordinate 3rd party, and COP inspection. Verify corrective actions are effectively implemented for non-conformance reports (NCRs) Maintaining and calibrating inspection equipment and tools. Maintain inspection records, test results, and quality documentation Project Coordination Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and Subcontractors Communicate findings and collaborate with the project team to resolve quality issues. Participate in pre-construction meetings, coordination meetings, and project closeout Support resolution of construction quality issues without impacting schedule or budget Assist in the preparation of project audit schedules, discipline activity plans for the quality function, and audit reports (internal and external), noting non-conformances, and verifying effective corrective action and follow up on audit findings and corrective actions recorded. Assist quality manager in developing an orientation program to ensure that the project teams are familiar with the requirements of the project quality plan and quality handbook; including other Quality matters, if required. Directly supervise our QC team and subcontractor Quality control team. Collaboration with internal construction and safety teams for smooth project execution. Monitoring and analyzing quality performance during the procedure. Manage punch lists and ensure timely closeout of quality-related items Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate QC documentation, inspection logs, and as-built records Prepare quality reports for clients, owners, and regulatory agencies Ensure document control for quality-related records Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports for clients and regular reporting. Leadership & Training Train project staff and subcontractors on quality requirements and procedures Promote a strong quality culture on job sites Conducting and participating in periodic welding training, case studies, and QC meetings. Mentor junior QC staff or inspectors assigned to the project Education Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Construction Management, Industrial, Engineering, Architecture, or related field Skills and Qualifications 7+ years of experience in construction quality control or inspection Strong knowledge of construction means and methods Experience working on large-scale projects (commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or public works) Familiarity with OSHA regulations, building codes, and construction standards Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts Ability to create documents using Microsoft Excel and Word. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required. Proficient in interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and industry standards; strong attention to detail and documentation skills Team-oriented, safety-conscious, and proactive in identifying and solving quality issues Experience working as a QC technician for a construction contractor at TSMC's Arizona factory, as plus. Speaking Chinese, as plus. Professional certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM), ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or PE license Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Lean Construction or Six Sigma experience Physical Requirements Must be able to ascend and descend 20 ft cage ladder. Climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, and standing for sustained periods of time Strong visual acuity is required, with the ability to see small print, symbols, and measurements. Ability to clearly distinguish fine details and detect defects or inconsistencies in products, materials, or components. Must possess good color vision and depth perception for accurate inspection of items.
