Job Description

Support the Data Protection Office in defining and operationalising the strategy and objectives for personal data governance across the Group. Your main responsibilities are to:

  • Actively participate in the development, review, enhancement and communication of data protection policies, processes and practices, in line with the Bank’s business objectives and best practices in order to ensure compliance with data privacy laws in Singapore and other Group locations
  • Carry out data privacy impact assessments; manage data inventory
  • Support enterprise-wide and Group-wide initiatives to embed personal data privacy considerations in business and operational processes; identify and address evolving risks
  • Oversee data governance reviews and control assessments, to ensure adherence to enterprise data privacy standards
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on compliance, regulatory, internal and external audit assessments, and follow up on mitigating actions
  • Conduct staff briefings on personal data protection matters
  • Provide guidance on management of data incidents or privacy complaints and undertake reporting as necessary

Requirements

  • Background in data governance, data privacy, risk management, consultancy or compliance, with at least 5 years of working experience
  • Experience in financial institutions or MNC preferred
  • Knowledge of personal data laws and regulations in Singapore; experience in navigating privacy laws in other ASEAN countries would be an advantage
  • Possess an awareness of how data is captured, stored, integrated and consumed in applications/systems; able to understand operational, business and data processes, controls and risk environment
  • Strong project management and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and manage different stakeholders across the Bank
  • Team player who possesses drive, confidence, analytical skills and an eye for details
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to design, prepare and maintain presentations, reports and records
