Position Overview

As a Deburring Technician, you will be responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from machined parts to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.

You will work closely with production and quality teams to ensure parts are properly finished, documented, and prepared for final use or assembly.

Key Responsibilities

· Deburr machined parts using hand tools, air tools, and finishing equipment

· Perform visual inspections to identify burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections

· Read and interpret basic blueprints and work instructions to meet quality requirements

· Operate equipment such as sandblasters, roto tools, and parts cleaners

· Perform tasks such as chamfering, drilling, knifing, and buffing on detailed components

· Accurately complete production and quality documentation

· Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure proper care of tools and equipment

· Follow all safety procedures and company standards

· Support team goals by maintaining quality and production efficiency

Requirements

Position Requirements:

• Education: High school or equivalent
• Experience:      
  • Manufacturing: 2 years 
  • Deburring: 2 years (Preferred)
• Certification(s): N/A
• Functional Skills: 
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in operating sandblasters, roto tools, and parts cleaners using correct procedures.
  • Chamfering and Drilling: Capable of chamfering and re-drilling parts efficiently.
  • Visual Inspection: Expert in visually identifying burrs and swells on intricate parts.
  • Knifing and Buffing: Proficient in performing knifing and buffing on detailed components.
  • Paperwork Accuracy: Understand and accurately complete all job-related paperwork.
  • Deburring Methods: Knowledgeable in all deburring methods to deburr intricate parts independently.
  • Part Repair: Ability to repair parts as needed to ensure quality.
  • Measurement Skills: Proficient in using micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools.
  • Blueprint Reading: Basic blueprint reading skills to ensure accurate part processing.

Technology Aptitude/Skills:  

• Blueprint and Documentation Reading: Accurately read and interpret part blueprints and documentation to meet part quality criteria.
• Safety Compliance: Maintain safe operations by strictly adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Documentation: Document actions meticulously by completing production and quality logs.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry advancements by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.

Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication in English, strong ability to create/write work instructions and train others.

Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions:

• Ability to operate a motor vehicle, as required for travel in the role
• Ability to stand for up 6-8 hours in one session
• Ability to sit at desk for 2+ hours per day
• Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screen as needed throughout the day
• Ability to write ideas/information in a logical flow as needed throughout the day
• Ability to read and respond on an on-going basis daily due to nature of the work, throughout the day
• Ability to communicate with others via phone, in-person, and computer on-going
• Ability to listen to customers, employees and peers, problem-solve, and respond accordingly
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, squat, twist, push, pull, and carry items frequently
• Lifting up to 35 lbs. sporadically
