Job DetailsJob Location: PHX - Phoenix, AZ 85043Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 Salary/yearJob Shift: DayEnergy Transport Logistics is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day to day operations for our transportation company.  Job Summary: Following completion of the accounting transformation to PE-standard processes, this steady-state operational role is essential to maintain our established accrual accounting systems, manage the monthly close cycle, and supervise the accounting staff. The position will be hybrid and report to the Controller. Rate of Pay: Commensurate with experience Also includes full health, dental, vision, life benefits, 401k with company match, & participation in company PTO program. Core responsibilities include: Own and drive a timely month-end close Review and approve all balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries Deliver monthly financial packages with variance analysis vs. budget/forecast Partner with Controller on audit readiness and external audit coordination Identify and implement process improvements to reduce close cycle time and improve accuracy Manage and develop a team of accounting staff, including performance reviews, coaching, and compensation recommendations. Additional responsibilities as assigned   QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities: Lead a full cycle month-end-close process for a team, including the approval of all reconciliations and journal entries Participated in an accounting workflow redesign (e.g., AP automation or a new ERP rollout) to improve team efficiency Proficient in financial reporting to troubleshoot data discrepancies and build custom reports   Required Candidate Profile: Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with 4+ years progressive experience including 2+ years in a supervisory role. The candidate must be proficient in all core functions including accrual accounting, reconciliations, and month-end closing. Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting principles is required. Experience working in accounting ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Business Central and Sage Intacct. Candidates with TMS (Transportation Management System) experience and transportation/logistics industry background, multiple entities and/or locations is a plus.
