Description

This is a temporary, full-time, hourly position for 12 weeks starting in May 2026.


TGen's Education and Outreach Office is seeking two full-time summer assistants to support the day-to-day operations of two summer programs.


One position supports TGen's summer biomedical research internship program, Helios Scholars at TGen. For more information visit: www.tgen.org/intern.


The second position supports the TGen Bioscience Leadership Academy. For more information, visit: www.tgen.org/academy.


These are high-energy positions for those wishing to learn the ins and outs of running either a 20-student high school leadership in bioscience program or a 45-student internship program and develop skills in program coordination, vendor negotiations, and event planning. The assistant will work closely with the program manager and the Marketing and Communications team to ensure clear messaging to students and mentors in the program and efficient execution of program operations.


Detailed Description

  • Researching and contacting vendors for quotes and information
  • Negotiating and ordering catering, equipment rental, and various program supplies
  • Organizing, printing, and contributing to the design of program materials
  • Daily meeting set-up and breakdown
  • Writing and creating surveys and collecting feedback
  • Inputting student data into a Microsoft Access database
  • Booking appointments, scheduling and coordinating intern and staff events
  • Daily updating and maintenance of paper and web-based intern resources
  • Participating in the planning, preparation, budgeting, and execution of a large, end-of-summer research symposium at a local venue
  • Other administrative/operations duties, as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma and at least 3 years job-related experience.


Medical background/knowledge would be helpful for a basic understanding of the content of divisional memos, correspondence, presentations, and minutes.


Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
