What you will do: 

  • Develop operating plan to manage all operational functions needed for home sports contests or events.  Plan to include processes such as:

    • Contacting visiting teams and officials to gather needs/requirements.

    • Set up of athletic facility required for event/game sport.

    • Staff information sheets

    • Distribution of credentials to visiting teams

  • Development of activity game day timeline for each event which includes all needed activities.

  • Lead/attend all preseason operations meetings and game day production meetings.

  • Monitor and track game and practice schedules; coordinate through meetings or other communication vehicles to all GCU needed departments, public safety, facilities or provide support.

  • Develop and execute an operational plan for all championship events hosted at GCU.

  • Serve as primary daily liaison of coordination of events with NCAA or Conference, Campus Events, Facilities, GCU arena to ensure all athletic events, practices, events, championships have the facility and tools needed to effectively operate.

  • Performs physical inspections of the facilities to ensure all facilities are operationally ready.

  • Coordinate facility maintenance for all athletic facilities and venues; equipment that is not maintained by GCU facilities, contact vendor for resolution.

  • Coordinate installation of new equipment/materiel and/or maintenance/upgrades with vendor as needed to ensure all equipment/materiel is in current state of operational readiness.

  • Participate in operational budget planning for game operations; may be asked to reconcile and manage monthly expenses.

  • Assist with all other administrative duties required for the facilities and operations office, such as purchasing, work orders, etc.

  • Manage student workers needed to assist in athletic facilities operations, includes activities such as hiring, scheduling, timecard approval, training.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred.

  • Minimum one year of experience in NCAA Division I athletic facilities and operations function or minimum 2 years’ experience in other NCAA Divisions or NAIA athletic and facilities functions.

  • Ability to pass background investigations.

  • Have a clear and valid driver's license

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
