Project Manager – Water & Wastewater CIP – City Utility – $100-115/hr – Phoenix

SunSoft Online is hiring an experienced Program Manager for a large public-sector organization in Phoenix, managing major capital improvement projects for water and wastewater infrastructure. This is a 1-year contract through August 2027, 100% onsite in downtown Phoenix, with occasional local travel.

The work: Manage capital improvement and rehabilitation projects involving water/wastewater infrastructure, including pipelines, pump stations, tanks, reservoirs, wells, sewer systems, and related assets.

Responsibilities include planning, design and construction management; project scope and cost estimate development; construction contract procurement and administration; technical review of plans and specifications; consultant/contractor coordination; and working across operations and other departments.

Required:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
3+ years of project management experience
3+ years of engineering or related experience

Preferred:

2+ years managing consultants and contractors on Capital Improvement Projects (CIP)
Experience with scope development, proposal review, payment applications, permitting, and design/construction drawing review
Water/wastewater design, plan review, inspection, or construction experience
Current Arizona PE registration

Position details:

$100-115/hr W2, depending on experience

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM

100% onsite, downtown Phoenix (85003)

1-year contract, anticipated start around August 31

Occasional Phoenix-area travel, reimbursed
