Job DetailsJob Location: Phoenix 401 Building - Phoenix, AZ 85034Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $32.00 - $38.00 HourlyJob Shift: 2nd Shift   Position Title:                    CNC Machinist Reports To:                         Production Supervisor                                                                                    Location:                             Phoenix FLSA Status:                       Non-Exempt Direct Reports:                 None     SUMMARY OF POSITION    This position is responsible for providing technical assistance and oversight to all CNC machinists.  This position also must operate the manual equipment   This position is in Northstar’s Manufacturing Department, and reports to the Production Supervisor.  The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary, but does not direct the work of other employees. This is a full-time position.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are listed below.  This list is not all inclusive and may be amended by Northstar, from time to time.   Assist teammates with technical  issues Perform precision machining operations on aerospace hardware Provides technical oversight and assist with all setup activities on CNC equipment Helps schedule resources in areas to ensure daily work is achieved Maintain highly efficient work process using Lean principles to support cost reduction activity Responsible for operating various CNC machines and equipment   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES   This position will not direct the work of any other employees.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS    The physical requirements of this position are listed below.   This list is not all inclusive and may be amended by Northstar, from time to time.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position.   Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing and seeing Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds Frequent reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, twisting, bending and repetitive motion Occasional sitting, writing and typing Visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of product and/or parts Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles Frequent exposure to moderate to heavy noise The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.   QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED                                                   Education Required:  High School diploma or equivalent experience   Experience Required: 5 years’ experience with CNC aerospace machining   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED   The knowledge, skills and abilities required and/or preferred for this position are listed below.  This list is not all inclusive and may be amended by Northstar, from time to time.   Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong work ethic Attention to detail Interface with MRP systems Good understanding of Microsoft Office products Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and 6-Sigma defect analysis Ability to work with all levels of workers in a team-oriented environment Qualifications
