The role will assist the company in moving from manual to automated transaction processing, establishing controls, and maturing the daily, weekly, and month-end financial processes. The role will play a role in the full gambit of financial process; customer to cash, procure to pay, book to report, as well as tax and payroll reporting. The position has visibility to the entire business cycle and opportunity to grow with the business. Experience with a manufacturing business; inventory, job costing, rates, etc. is preferred. The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organization by performing a variety of accounting and analytical tasks. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Report to Financial Controller and Fractional CFO the Staff Accountant collaborates with internal departments and accounting personnel to support timely reporting and effective financial decision-making. General Ledger Management: Maintaining the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciling accounts. Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, etc.) for internal and external stakeholders. Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank, credit card and company card expense statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Accounts Payable: Processing invoices and making payments Budgeting & Forecasting: Assisting with the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts. Tax Compliance: Assist with preparation of any applicable tax returns/forms. Audit Support: Assisting with internal and external audits. Month-End & Year-End Close: Establish month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations. Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, errors and opportunities for improvement. Software Proficiency: Utilizing accounting software and other relevant tools to perform daily tasks and generate reports. Communication & Collaboration: Communicating effectively with other team members and functional areas o ensure accurate financial information. Backup Support: Learn and understand payroll and billing processes to be a backup resource. Other: Perform other related duties as assigned by management. QualificationsQualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong foundation in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close. Experience working in a small to mid-sized business where adaptability and hands-on execution are required. Strong Excel skills and comfort working within ERP or accounting systems. High attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-through skills. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Preferred Accounting experience in manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, or other inventory-intensive environment. Experience with standard cost, inventory reconciliation, job costing, or manufacturing-related financial analysis. Experience supporting audits and building accounting controls in a growing company.
