Director, Real Estate Credit Investment

With a culture rooted in performance, innovation, and reliability, we’re seeking a Director, Real Estate Credit, to help shape and execute the firm’s investment strategy.   The Director will work closely with the CIO to evaluate investment opportunities, oversee underwriting and diligence processes, and support capital deployment strategies. Over time, this role is expected to take on increasing responsibility in evaluating, structuring, and pricing new investments alongside the CIO. In addition to the outlined responsibilities, the Director should build on the company’s reputation, instill trust in our investors, and positively contribute to our culture.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Investment Evaluation & Credit Structuring:  Work closely with the CIO to evaluate and structure new real estate credit investments, determining appropriate loan terms including pricing, advance rates, and structural protections.
  • Investment Decision Support: Analyze and present investment opportunities, providing independent credit perspectives to support disciplined investment decisions.
  • Deal Review & Underwriting Oversight: Evaluate opportunities sourced by the firm’s origination team and oversee underwriting and diligence to ensure investments meet the firm’s return objectives and risk standards.
  • Transaction Structuring & Execution: Lead the diligence and structuring process for approved investments, working with legal and internal teams to finalize loan terms and documentation.
  • Portfolio Performance & Risk Monitoring: Monitor portfolio performance and market trends to ensure investments remain aligned with the firm’s strategy and credit framework.
  • Investment Team Collaboration: Work closely with investment associates and originators throughout the investment lifecycle to maintain rigorous analysis and efficient deal execution.


HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in finance, economics, real estate, or a related analytical field preferred. MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience evaluating commercial real estate investments within lending, private credit, or real estate investment platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating and executing commercial real estate credit investments.
  • Strong financial modeling, underwriting, and credit analysis expertise.
  • Deep knowledge of real estate capital markets, debt structures, and loan structuring.
  • Experience evaluating transitional or value-add real estate investments preferred.
  • Strong investment judgment and the ability to assess risk across property types and markets.
  • Ability to analyze complex investments and negotiate loan terms and transaction structures.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in helping grow a dynamic investment platform.
  • Willingness to live and work in Arizona.
