Design Hire is seeking an Electrical Application Engineer for a Phoenix-area industrial technology organization developing and supporting integrated equipment systems. This role is focused on electrical design and application engineering, with responsibility for schematics, instrumentation, component selection, system integration, documentation, testing, and field support. The position is hybrid and requires periodic local and regional travel.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain electrical schematics and designs for 24VDC control and 480VAC power systems, including panel/system design, power distribution, and component selection.
Select and integrate sensors, actuators, valves, pumps, flow/pressure devices, VFDs, and other industrial instrumentation and electrical hardware.
Support equipment through vendor fabrication, FAT, I/O checks, commissioning, troubleshooting, field operation, and design improvements.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation, manuals, and controlled product records while supporting electrical safety, code, and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with controls, manufacturing, field, mechanical/process, and vendor teams to solve system-level issues and improve equipment reliability.

Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
5+ years of electrical design/application engineering experience in industrial equipment, manufacturing, process systems, or a comparable environment.
Strong experience with 24VDC and 480VAC systems, electrical schematics, panel/system design, and electrical component selection.
Experience with industrial instrumentation and field devices such as sensors, actuators, valves, pumps, flow meters, pressure devices, and VFDs.
Experience supporting FAT, commissioning, I/O checks, troubleshooting, and field operations.
Working knowledge of electrical safety, standards/compliance, and disciplined engineering documentation. PLM experience is a plus.
Practical, systems-level problem-solving ability, with strong cross-functional communication skills.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to support periodic local, regional, and international travel.

Preferred Experience
Experience with fluid/process systems, product-development environments, PLCs/controls, PE licensure, or basic programming is beneficial but not required.
