Operations Team Member

Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest (LSS-SW) is hiring an Operations Coordinator to help keep our facilities, supplies, and day-to-day operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on role that supports multiple sites and teams, grounded in a strong culture of service, responsiveness, and support.

What You’ll Do:

  • Keep office and common areas stocked with supplies, including kitchen and breakroom essentials
  • Monitor inventory levels and restock and reorder supplies with a strong focus on cost awareness and minimizing waste
  • Coordinate with property management and vendors to address maintenance and facility needs
  • Support basic safety and security practices, including reporting concerns and helping maintain secure, functional spaces
  • Assist with managing keys, access, and overall site readiness
  • Help maintain the organization’s vehicle fleet:
    • Schedule and take vehicles in for routine maintenance
    • Wash and clean vehicles regularly
    • Track vehicle use and condition
  • Assist with driver safety efforts by helping track vehicle inspections, reporting issues, and supporting safe-use practices
  • Maintain and update operational tracking tools using Excel (inventory, fleet, and general logs)
  • Support accounts payable processes by organizing, tracking, and maintaining records (e.g., invoices, receipts, and documentation), without direct responsibility for payment processing
  • Respond to staff requests with a customer-service mindset, helping remove barriers so teams can focus on their work

What We’re Looking For:

  • Basic Excel skills (updating spreadsheets, tracking information, simple formulas)
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through
  • Ability to be resourceful and cost-conscious when managing supplies and vendors
  • Comfortable with hands-on tasks (lifting, moving supplies, traveling between sites)
  • Organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities at once
  • Clear communication and a proactive, problem-solving approach
  • Commitment to supporting others with a helpful, team-oriented mindset
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Work Environment:

  • Active, on-the-go role with a mix of office and field-based responsibilities
  • Regular interaction with staff, vendors, and property contacts
  • A team culture that values reliability, respect, and supporting one another’s success

We are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible workplace. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
