About our property:

  The iconic Arizona Biltmore is located in the heart of the prestigious Biltmore neighborhood in Phoenix. The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. What you will have an opportunity to do:

The Pastry Cook II is responsible for the preparation and baking of cakes, cookies, pies, puddings, or desserts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain a professional attitude, demeanor and appearance. Wear proper uniform and footwear at all items.

  • Consult your supervisor if you are unsure of tasks and procedures.

  • Store all items in approved containers that are wrapped, dated and labeled. Follow food handler’s guidelines.

  • Sign in and out on the authorized form. Have your supervisor initial it before leaving

  • Clean all small equipment such as mixers, buffalo choppers, etc., yourself immediately after using them.

  • Prepare items listed on production sheet.

  • Rotate old stock out first. Ask chef if freshness is questionable.

  • Date and label all items going into freezer and walk-in, clean as you go.

  • Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests and associates, damage to our property or the property of others.

  • Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency, and demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency.

This position is Full-Time. Must be available to work days, weekends and holidays. Work schedule will be 6:30am - 3pm.

What are we looking for?

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Graduate of an Apprenticeship or accredited Culinary School, preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • At least two (2) years pastry experience in a professional kitchen in a high-volume operation

  • One (1) year of hotel experience, preferred

  • Upscale / luxury dining experience, preferred

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

  • Maricopa County Food Handler Card

  • ServeSafe Food Handler Certification, preferred
