The UCP of Central Arizona Therapy Program is looking for a physical therapist who has broad clinical knowledge and a strong interest in evaluation and treatment of pediatric motor disorders. UCP is developing a Motor Disorder Clinic for children in the Southwest and looking for a physical therapist who is passionate about kids with physical disabilities as we are. UCP has a Mobility Clinic, Baby Clinic, Constraint Induced Movement Therapy and collaborate with Ability360 recreational program. We use best practice for intensives and standard of care. Our therapy team is part of the UCP Nationals Early Detection and Intervention Collaborative in a national network led by our international experts. AT UCP OF CENTRAL ARIZONA OUR THERAPY PROGRAMS FOCUS ON UNLOCKING A CHILD’S POTENTIAL UCP of Central Arizona provides comprehensive services to individuals with disabilities and their families by providing physical and developmental support as well as educational growth, which is the foundation for independent living for “Life without Limits.”  In our Therapy program, our team of pediatric Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists have expertise helping children with all disabilities and diagnoses that impact their quality of life. Our team also works with families who may just need a little extra help and children with complex needs. Our therapy clinics have several specialized programs for children with motor disorders such as a Baby Clinic, Feeding Clinic, Early Intervention Therapy for Infants and Toddlers, Augmentative and Alternative Communication Program, Robot Assisted Balance & Gait Training, L.I.F.E. Skills Group for pre-teens.  A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A UCP PHYSICAL THERAPIST As a UCP physical therapist, you will treat children with cerebral palsy and other motor disorders related to genetic disorders, rare disorders, global developmental delays and many other diagnoses that affect the ability of a child to live life without limits. Knowledge in specialty areas such as early detection of cerebral palsy, robot assisted gait training, and assistive technology will be valued. You will develop treatment plans to help children with gross motor delays, neuromuscular dysfunction, and deficits in mobility and adaptive skills. Your support team will help you obtain medical documentation needed for a comprehensive assessment. You assess children’s needs quarterly and adjust the plan of care accordingly. You keep detailed documentation regarding billing, insurance, evaluations, progress, treatment, and discharge. Each week you meet with the team at a Team Meeting. You develop personalized home activities to empower families and help parents make informed decisions about care. When necessary, you refer families out to additional educational or medical services. At UCP, you can use your expertise to unlock the potential of the children we serve.QualificationsMinimum: Master's degree in Physical Therapy, with a pediatric internship. Verifiable experience writing prescriptive programs. Preferred: Master's degree in Physical Therapy, with one or more years of experience working with children with developmental or multiple disabilities. Verifiable experience developing and implementing IFSP/IEP's in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team. Bilingual (English/Spanish)            Licenses/Certificates:   Must possess Registered Physical Therapist License.   Must possess a valid driver’s license and adequate insurance coverage per UCP policy. Requirements:   Must meet agency licensure standards for fingerprinting, CPR and First aid.  Advanced computer skills.
