The role

The Production Shift Supervisor is part of the Production team.  This position is responsible for supervising employees engaged in assembling parts, as well as the manufacturing of products within quality, time, and cost standards. You are also responsible for processing, troubleshooting, repair, and record keeping of all injection molding machines and related equipment when necessary.

As a Production Supervisor at IPL you will:

  • Oversees full-time and temporary assembly and floor employees.

  • Instructs full-time and temporary assembly and floor employees on work methods, company policies and procedures, and safe work practices.

  • Re-trains and provides employees with updates to policies, procedures, and work practices as needs arise.

  • Administers disciplinary action to full-time and temporary assembly and floor employees for deficiencies in employee conduct.

  • Provides annual performance reviews to full-time assembly and floor employees.

  • Ensures that all work is carried out in accordance with the company safety policy.

  • Oversees set up and operation of equipment, material use, job assignments, labeling, and other related activities on respective shift.

  • Maintains time and production records.

  • Assists quality control with the determination of quality control issues and remains accountable for results.

  • Troubleshoots mechanical problems with molds and machinery when necessary.

  • Ensures the security of the general plant and manufacturing areas.

  • Responds to building or employee incidents promptly and appropriately, and reports to Human Resources.

  • Evaluates assembly employees on a periodic basis and responsible for performance management.

What you will bring to the role:

The Production Shift Supervisor is part of the Production team.  This position is responsible for supervising employees engaged in assembling parts, as well as the manufacturing of products within quality, time, and cost standards. You are also responsible for processing, troubleshooting, repair, and record keeping of all injection molding machines and related equipment when necessary. You are a key component in Leaktite’s customer satisfaction by ensuring product quality standards are met and maintained throughout the shift.

 

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience Supervising in a injection molding manufacturing environment

  • Written Communication Skills

  • Computer literate and familiar with operation of software systems such as MS office, MRP/ERP systems

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Knowledge and proficiency of the injection molding process and equipment

  • Time Management

  • Quality Control

  • Ability to work as a team and maintain good working relationships with co-workers.
