Location: Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC), Houston, TX, and/or its nine (9) Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).
Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00a-4:30p

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Care: Provide a full range of psychiatric services as required by the facility's mission.
• Patient Safety: Adhere to all established patient safety and infection control standards, including active efforts to prevent medication errors, falls, and patient injuries.
• Documentation: Complete all required clinical documentation, including Quality Management (QM) and Performance Improvement (PI) paperwork regarding procedures, complications, and outcomes.
• Incident Reporting: Notify the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) of any patient safety incidents within 24 hours and document them in the VA Patient Safety Reporting System.
• Collaboration: Participate in weekly Program Staff meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education & Certification: * Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
o Must maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent.
• Licensure: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted license in one or more U.S. states. Providers with a history of restricted, suspended, or revoked licenses will not be considered.
• Citizenship: Must be US Citizen
• Security: Must pass required background investigations and comply with all VA privacy and cybersecurity training.
