Job Overview
Marketech International Corporation USA is seeking an experienced QA/QC Lead to support and coordinate quality assurance and quality control activities for construction and engineering projects. This position is responsible for overseeing field inspections, monitoring workmanship and material quality, managing quality documentation, and supporting compliance with project drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements.
The QA/QC Lead will work closely with the QA/QC Manager, Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives to identify quality issues, coordinate corrective actions, and help ensure consistent quality performance throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Compliance
- Support the implementation of project QA/QC plans, procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and quality requirements.
- Verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Monitor field quality performance and escalate significant quality concerns to project leadership.
Inspection & Field Oversight
- Coordinate and perform inspections of materials, equipment, installations, and construction activities.
- Review inspection results, testing records, checklists, and field quality documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Lead daily field quality activities and provide direction to QA/QC inspectors or project personnel as needed.
Nonconformance & Corrective Action
- Identify, document, and track Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), deficiencies, punch-list items, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and project teams to resolve quality issues and verify corrective work.
- Assist with root-cause analysis and preventive action for recurring quality concerns.
Subcontractor & Project Coordination
- Monitor subcontractor and vendor compliance with project quality requirements.
- Coordinate inspection schedules and quality activities with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and subcontractors.
- Participate in project, quality, and client coordination meetings as required.
Documentation & Turnover
- Maintain inspection logs, testing reports, NCR records, checklists, and other project quality documentation.
- Support review of drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and related technical documents.
- Assist with system walkdowns, punch-list completion, commissioning preparation, closeout, and turnover documentation.
Team Support & Training
- Provide guidance and technical support to QA/QC inspectors, field personnel, and subcontractors.
- Help train project teams on inspection requirements, quality procedures, and documentation standards.
- Promote consistent quality practices and a strong quality culture across the project site.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- 4+ years of QA/QC experience in construction, engineering, industrial, manufacturing, or a related environment.
- Previous experience as a QA/QC Lead, Senior QC Inspector, QA/QC Engineer, or similar role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction inspection and quality control processes.
- Experience working with ITPs, inspection checklists, NCRs, corrective actions, and quality documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical documents, and applicable codes and standards.
- Experience coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and project management.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project documentation systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced field and project environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, cleanroom, MEP, industrial, or high-tech construction projects.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, piping, structural, or process utility systems.
- Knowledge of applicable standards such as ASME, AWS, NFPA, NEC, ASTM, or other relevant codes.
- Experience with system turnover, commissioning support, or project closeout.
- Relevant quality certifications such as ASQ, AWS, ICC, CQM, or equivalent are a plus.
