Work Schedule & Paid Breaks

  • Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm
  • 10 Month Position (August-May)
  • Paid School Breaks! (Fall, Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring)
  • Additionally, we observe federal holidays which often involve three-day weekends

Accel is a private, nonprofit organization for children and young adults with special needs, ages 5-22. Accel provides innovative, individualized and comprehensive educational, therapeutic, vocational, behavioral, life skills, and transitional services to individuals with a wide range of disabilities including autism, intellectual, physical disabilities and health impairments.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (includes but are not limited to):

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans and instructional programs
  • Provide ongoing and periodic evaluations of students' progress and make recommendations concerning curriculum areas to be emphasized and required accommodations
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with parents/caregivers and inform them of the student's progress
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping system
  • Provide supervision and direction to classroom Paraprofessionals and implement behavior intervention techniques for classroom management
  • Physically intervene or provide physical assistance in the classroom
  • Serve as a Coordinator that manages IEP scheduling and participates and helps facilitate MET and IEP meetings
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to implement therapeutic and educational programs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education
  • Arizona Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement in the area being hired to teach
  • Must have or ability to obtain Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a required background check
