About the Role:

The staff accountant will be an essential member of the finance team who is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. In this role you will assist with posting A/P, A/R journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting and month-end close processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and a solid understanding of accounting principles

Requirements

In this role, you will:

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate financial reporting
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis
• Assist with month- and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments
• Maintain and update financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with audits the annual audit of RDF and 20+ SPE’s
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, variances or areas for improvement
• Special projects as needed. 

Required Qualifications:


• 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• MIP Fund Accounting software experience a plus.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work collectively within a team environment.
• Detailed-oriented and able to multitask effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel skills.
• Knowledge of the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program is a plus.

Education:
• Bachelor of Science in Accounting from an accredited university (candidates with non-accounting or adjacent degrees will not be considered at this time).
