info
  • A1 Garage Door Service is seeking a Growth Initiatives Project Lead with 2-4 years of experience in project coordination or management.
  • The role involves supporting acquisition integrations and driving horizontal initiatives while maintaining organization and communication across multiple departments.
  • Candidates should be proficient in Asana and possess strong organizational skills, with a focus on process improvement and the ability to handle competing deadlines.
  • The position offers a salary of $70,000 to $85,000, along with benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401K.
  • This hands-on role provides opportunities for growth within the company and direct involvement in high-impact initiatives.

A1 Garage Door Service is one of the fastest-growing home services companies in the country, and our PMO exists to make sure that growth doesn't outrun our ability to deliver on it. This is a hands-on role on a small team — you'll work on the initiatives with the highest visibility in the company and learn the business from the inside out.

The Growth Initiatives Project Lead helps drive A1 Garage Door Service's highest-impact, horizontal initiatives. This person supports A1's strategy and execution framework and helps run the company's key initiatives, such as acquisition integration. When an integration is live, it is this role's top priority — supporting the plan from diligence handoff through close and onboarding of the new market. Between integrations, the work shifts to process and tool improvements, including the company-wide Asana rollout.

Every initiative is different — some are multi-month, cross-functional builds; others are fast-moving fixes a team needs unblocked this week. This role flexes to fit both. This is not a role that manages from a distance: the expectation is ownership from inside the work — personal ownership of outcomes, staying in the details until they're finished, and stepping in to absorb workload and provide relief for the operating teams when the work demands it.

What You’ll Do

  • Support Acquisition Integrations — when a deal is live, this is the top priority:

    • Maintain the integration plan and timeline in Asana from the diligence process after a signed LOI through close and full onboarding, tracking tasks across every workstream (Ops, HR/Payroll, IT, Marketing, Dispatch, Finance) and following up so nothing slips.

    • Adapt to the size of each deal, applying the right level of process for anything from a large multi-technician company to a phone-number-only buy.

    • Coordinate day to day with Regional VPs, Area Managers, HR, IT, Marketing, and Finance to keep every dependency moving: employee onboarding, scheduling training, phone number porting, and rebranding.

    • Travel to acquired markets as needed to support onsite data collection, hands-on diligence work, and town halls.

    • Support in-person town halls with acquired staff, typically the day after close, delivering clear, honest, and compassionate communication to people whose roles and reporting lines are changing.

    • Review, validate, and clean CRM data once the acquired company's customer history has been merged into our ServiceTitan account, so field teams don't lose years of customer contact information and job history.

    • Track status across all active integrations, flagging risks and blockers early to the Sr. Director, PMO and keeping trackers current.

    • Pick up whatever the role needs — stepping into new tasks and unfamiliar systems as integrations surface work that doesn't fit neatly into one department.

    • Keep playbooks and checklists current so each new integration runs faster and more consistently than the last.

  • Drive Assigned Growth Initiatives — run assigned horizontal initiatives day to day, tracking tasks, chasing owners across Operations, Marketing, Finance, HR, IT, and Growth, and escalating to the Sr. Director, PMO when something stalls.

  • Support the Asana Rollout — build projects from existing templates, maintain dashboards and reporting, and help train new teams as adoption expands.

  • Document and Improve Processes — map how work happens today and help redesign the gaps, particularly where a clean process needs to exist before a tool or system can be implemented.

  • Keep Status Current — run operating mechanisms, produce meeting notes, status updates, and trackers across assigned initiatives so the PMO and initiative owners stay aligned on progress.

  • Support the CEO's Idea Funnel — process intake, apply ICE scoring, and assemble the weekly digest for review.

What You’ll Bring

  • 2-4 years of experience in project coordination, project management, business operations, or a similar cross-functional support role

  • Hands-on Asana proficiency — comfortable building projects and tasks from templates, with the appetite to learn custom fields and reporting

  • Exposure to process mapping or process improvement, and interest in designing a process before it gets built into a tool

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to juggle several concurrent workstreams and competing deadlines without dropping details

  • Comfort with ambiguity and speed, bringing structure to a fast-moving, PE-backed environment without slowing it down

  • Clear written and verbal communication across audiences, from frontline teams to senior leadership — able to turn in-progress work into a straightforward update

  • Exposure to M&A integration or multi-site/multi-market operations is a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be strongly considered

Key Attributes for Success

  • Horizontal Contributor — comfortable working across functions and initiatives rather than sitting in one narrow lane and builds the working relationships in each department that keep work moving.

  • Priority Shifter — can drop into an integration the moment one goes live and make it the top priority, without losing the thread on everything else.

  • Systems-Minded — thinks in process and structure first, tools second.

  • Calm Under Pressure — manages critical timelines and high-visibility work with composure.

  • Hands-On Owner — works from inside the work rather than above it: takes personal ownership of outcomes, stays in the details until they're finished, and steps in directly to absorb workload and provide relief for the operating teams when the work demands it.

Why This Role

  • Direct Line to Company KPIs — your work supports the metrics the executive team and our ownership group prioritize most, not peripheral activity.

  • Breadth of Exposure — the role spans every function in the business, building operational fluency that typically takes years to accumulate.

  • Real Responsibility — you'll work directly on A1's highest-stakes initiatives, including live acquisition integrations, from your first month.

  • Defined Growth Path — the role is structured as a step toward the Growth Initiatives Leader seat and broader program or operations roles within the PMO.

Additional Information

  • Travel — expect periodic travel to acquired and existing markets, concentrated around integration milestones such as close and town halls.

  • Physical requirements — primarily office-based work, with occasional time in the field at branch and jobsite locations.
