What You Will Do:Â
- Perform independent technical assessment of proposed part versus asserted commercial comparable
- Develop side-by-side salient characteristic comparisons from drawings, specifications, and technical data
- Analyze and document form, fit, and function equivalence, including application and installation context
- Quantify and characterize technical differences that drive price delta, feeding the analyst's price walk
- Write the technical narrative substantiating or refuting the supplier's claim
- Identify comparable parts and alternate commercial sources during market research support
- Push back on unsupported assertions with defensible technical rationale
What You Will Bring:
- Mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering degree, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3+ years in component engineering, alternate sourcing, EPA/TDR development, should-cost, or value engineering in an aerospace hardware environment
- Fluent in engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data packages
- Experience assessing part equivalence for source substitution or qualification
- Familiarity with aerospace product families across commercial and defense platforms
- Clear technical writing for a compliance audience, not an engineering audience
Pay Range: $95,000 - $115,000 per year
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements: This role is considered a Hybrid position, based in Phoenix, AZ.
Travel Requirements:Â Due to the nature of the work, no travel is required.
