Description

The Warehouse Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products within our solar manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials, components, and finished products. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to supporting a sustainable energy future by maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

Material Handling and Inventory Management:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips or purchase orders.
  • Accurately label and store materials in designated locations, maintaining clear and orderly inventory records.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation to minimize discrepancies.

Shipping and Distribution:

  • Prepare materials and products for shipment, including picking, packing, labeling, and palletizing.
  • Collaborate with the shipping team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of finished goods to customers or distribution centers.

Operational Support:

  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling machinery, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure material availability and timely delivery to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Report damaged or defective materials to the appropriate department for resolution.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Follow company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety guidelines to create a secure work environment.
  • Participate in safety training and emergency response drills.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management are a plus.
  • 5+ years of warehouse or logistics experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have 3+ years’ experience loading and unloading shipping containers (20”+).
  • Must have 5+ years of forklift experience including sit-down, stand-up, and reach truck operation.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to [50 lbs.] and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

 

Certifications:

  • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.

 

Work Environment

  • Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise levels.
  • Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • All roles require English proficiency. 

 

Internal Candidates:  

Must meet attendance and time-in-service eligibility requirements.   

  • Attendance Points: Must be fewer than 3.
  • Time-in-Service: Requirement depends on the current department.

The range for this position is ​$20.00 hourly rate - $21.50 hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
