As a Welder at United Rentals, you will maintain and repair shoring and shielding equipment to maximize branch productivity. You’ll be dedicated to the service of Trench Safety rental equipment. What you'll do:

  • Layout and apply the appropriate weld type, as per engineering or manufacturing specifications

  • Inspect, repair and paint all rental equipment upon return to ensure that it is rental ready and safe for use

  • Perform non-structural repairs or modifications to rental equipment per manufacturer's specifications

  • Perform active shoring installation welding support on job sites

  • Fabricate projects in the facility as required

  • When required, travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance of equipment

  • Complete work orders on equipment service and maintain an inventory of related parts for repair

  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment

  • Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Welding school certification

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Arc, MIG and TIG welding

  • Knowledge of metals and materials needed to perform repairs on all shoring, shielding, and slide rail applications

  • Must be able to burn efficiently and with good quality

  • Must be able to identify the type of welder, and wire or rod size, needed to complete safe repairs

  • Knowledge of OSHA applicable state and local requirements relative to trench and excavation shoring and shielding

  • Knowledge of underground construction equipment capabilities and OSHA safe working practices

  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

  • Inspecter, rĂ©parer et peindre tout l'Ă©quipement de location Ă  son retour pour s'assurer qu'il est prĂŞt Ă  ĂŞtre louĂ© et qu'il peut ĂŞtre utilisĂ© en toute sĂ©curitĂ©

  • Effectuer des rĂ©parations ou des modifications non structurelles Ă  l'Ă©quipement de location selon les spĂ©cifications du fabricant

  • Effectuer un support de soudage des installations actives d'Ă©tayage sur les chantiers

  • Fabriquer des projets dans l'installation selon les besoins

  • Au besoin, se rendre sur les chantiers des clients pour la rĂ©paration/l'entretien de l'Ă©quipement

  • Remplir les bons de travail sur le service de l'Ă©quipement et tenir Ă  jour un inventaire des pièces connexes Ă  rĂ©parer

Exigences du poste :

  • DiplĂ´me d’études secondaires ou Ă©quivalent

  • Certificat d’une Ă©cole de soudure

  • Minimum de 1 Ă  2 ans d’expĂ©rience de soudage Ă  l'arc, de soudage MIG (au magnĂ©sium en atmosphère inerte) et de soudage TIG (au tungstène en atmosphère inerte)

  • Connaissance des mĂ©taux et des matĂ©riaux nĂ©cessaires pour effectuer des rĂ©parations sur toutes les applications d'Ă©tayage, de blindage et de glissières

  • Doit pouvoir brĂ»ler efficacement et avec bonne qualitĂ©

  • Doit ĂŞtre en mesure d'identifier le type de machine Ă  souder et la taille du fil ou de la tige nĂ©cessaires pour effectuer des rĂ©parations en toute sĂ©curitĂ©

  • Layout and apply the appropriate weld type, as per engineering or manufacturing specifications

  • Inspect, repair and paint all rental equipment to ensure that it is rental ready and safe for use

  • Perform non-structural repairs or modifications to rental equipment per manufacturer's specifications

  • Fabricate projects in the facility as required

  • Complete work orders on equipment service and maintain an inventory of related parts for repair

  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment

  • Operate overhead cranes, use chain magnets and other lifting devices to move material and hold in place.

  • Read drawings to determine the appropriate welding method and equipment based on requirements

  • Set up components for welding according to specifications

  • Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Welding school certification

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Arc, MIG and TIG welding

  • General basic carpentry knowledge

  • Must be able to burn efficiently and with good quality
