Position Summary/Purpose:

Online Student Tutor in the subjects of Math and Computer Science! The Online Student Tutors provide one-on-one academic support to Grand Canyon University’s online students in select undergraduate courses. Tutors will be responsible for assisting students in developing comprehension and mastery of course material through individualized coaching, review of assignments, and proactive outreach to ensure student success.

We are currently seeking tutors in the following subjects:

  • Computer Science: ITT-111 or CST-105

  • Mathematics: MAT-144 or MAT-154

  • Statistics: MAT-274 or BUS-352

Tutors work remotely but must be located in Arizona and available to work between 10–20 hours per week, including Saturdays. All tutors have the ability to work up to 40 hours per week over the summer semester.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized tutoring and academic coaching to online students.

  • Assist students with understanding course concepts and completing assignments.

  • Review diagnostic assessments and tailor tutoring sessions to address specific student needs.

  • Make outbound calls to schedule appointments and maintain professional communication.

  • Record accurate and detailed notes in the CRM system after each session.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all student records and tutoring interactions.

  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.

  • Must have earned an “A–” or higher in the course(s) you wish to tutor.

  • Strong verbal communication and phone skills.

  • Self-driven and dependable with strong time-management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

  • Preferred: Availability to also work during Summer 2026 in Arizona.

Course-specific requirements:

  • Computer Science Tutors: Must have completed ITT-111 or CST-105.

  • Math Tutors: Must have completed MAT-144 or MAT-154.

  • Statistics Tutors: Must have completed MAT-274 or BUS-352.

Education & Eligibility:

To be eligible for student employment at Grand Canyon University, applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled as a full-time GCU student in a bachelor’s or master’s program.

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).

  • Remain in good academic and financial standing with the University.

  • Meet all employment eligibility requirements as a GCU student worker.

Failure to meet these requirements may result in termination of student employment.

Work Environment:

This position is remote. Work is performed indoors and may involve variations in temperature, equipment noise, and digital workspace environments.
