Position Summary:  

The Warehouse Receiving Manager is responsible for effectively managing receiving, storage operations of the warehouse, maintaining professional business relations with vendors, suppliers, carriers and external contacts and ensuring the maintenance and safety compliance for the site.

This position is 1st shift, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions: 

Development and implementation of effective Receiving policies, procedures and planning. 

  • Develops policies and procedures for Receiving operations. Conducts periodic reviews of existing policies and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency. 
  • Executes against established storage and receiving operational goals. 
  • Makes recommendations for equipment purchased and capital improvements.
  • Manages site operating and performance metrics.
  • Assists with long-term budget projections. 

Effectively manages Receiving operations of the Warehouse.

  • Manages planning and reporting of production quantities and material usage for warehouse – produced items. Maintain transactional disciplines to support operations.
  • Develops and maintains an effective slotting process that supports efficiency goals.
  • Directs inventory procedures and controls. 
  • Ensures first in first out (FIFO) rotation procedures are in effect for receiving and storage.
  • Manages warehouse space planning. Ensures the effective layout will accommodate present and future storage requirements.
  • Ensures Receiving, warehousing operations are following established procedures, policies, safety rules and regulations.
  • Manages relationship and effective interaction with third party storage facilities for raw materials, and packaging – establishes need and budget, reviews expenditures, and ensures procedures and systems are working as planned.

Responsible for the maintenance and safety compliance of the site.

  • Ensures OSHA requirements are effectively implemented.
  • Ensures both the inside and outside of warehousing facilities are clean and orderly. 
  • Ensures forklifts, ladders, pallets, shelves, scanners, are in safe operating condition. 
  • Ensures Warehouse security. 

Maintains professional business relations with vendors, suppliers, carriers, and external contacts.

  • Acts as a liaison between the Company and external contracts.
  • Oversees effective coordination of external delivery services with Company operations. 
  • Obtains and conveys information as appropriate.

Effectively supervising site operations ensuring optimal performance.

  • Provides leadership to assigned personnel by setting effective objectives, delegation of duties, and establishing open communication. Conducts regular meetings to ensure personnel are well informed of changes in policies and procedures. Discusses areas needing improvement.
  • Assigns and coordinates personnel. Directs daily operations. 
  • Identifies, develops, and implements training programs as appropriate.
  • Conducts performance appraisals. Provides measurable feedback to assigned personnel and suggestions for improved performance. Formulates and implements employee corrective actions as needed. 

Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.  

  • Assists Receiving personnel as needed. 
  • Completes special projects as assigned. 
  • Conducting inventory in manufacturing. 

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred 
  • 5+ years related experience in CPG industry or equivalent
  • 3+ years supervising others
  • Inventory control experience required 
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills 
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills 
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus 
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of GMP and Food Manufacturing 
  • Forklift Certified 
  • Food industry experience preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Demands: Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.; Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and visual acuity (near/far); occasional climbing/balancing, stooping/twisting, kneeling, squatting, crawling, push/pull, reaching, and gripping 
  • Environmental Conditions: Frequent exposure to excessive noise, extreme temperatures, dust/fumes, and machinery; occasional exposure to working at heights and hazards.
