POSITION SUMMARY

The Procurement Specialist supports procurement and sourcing activities to ensure the timely acquisition of materials, equipment, tools, and supplies required to support project execution. This role assists with purchase order processing, vendor communication, material tracking, inventory coordination, and procurement documentation while helping ensure materials are available to meet project schedules and operational needs.


The Procurement Specialist works closely with the Procurement Manager, Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Warehouse, Field Operations, and Finance teams to support purchasing activities, maintain accurate records, coordinate deliveries, and help ensure materials are received on time, within budget, and according to project requirements.

 

PAY GRADE RANGE

Pay: $26.45/hour - $31.25/hour (Based on Experience)


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement Support

  • Process purchase orders for materials, equipment, tools, consumables, and services in accordance with company purchasing procedures.
  • Coordinate procurement of electrical balance of systems required for active construction projects.
  • Obtain quotes from approved vendors and compare pricing, lead times, and product availability on materials identified through project takeoffs. 
  • Assist with sourcing materials to support construction projects and operational needs.
  • Review order confirmations, invoices, packing slips, and receiving documentation for accuracy.
  • Track purchase orders and provide timely updates on delivery status to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve BOS procurement, replenishment, inventory management, and material delivery processes.


Vendor & Supplier Support

  • Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to pricing, delivery, order discrepancies, damaged materials, invoicing, and product quality.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding order status, shipping schedules, and documentation.
  • Support the Procurement Manager by gathering supplier information and obtaining competitive pricing as requested.


Inventory & Logistics Support

  • Coordinate material deliveries to warehouses and project sites using third-party carriers and company personnel.
  • Respond to urgent field material requests by determining whether materials can be sourced from existing inventory, transferred from another location, or purchased from a vendor.
  • Allocate warehouse inventory to support project requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment purchasing.
  • Assist with inventory counts at warehouse locations and project sites to maintain accurate inventory records.

 

Project Coordination

  • Work closely with the Procurement Manager, Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Warehouse, and Finance teams to support project material requirements.
  • Communicate material availability, shipping updates, and delivery schedules to project teams.
  • Help ensure materials are delivered on time to support project schedules and minimize delays.
  • Maintain visibility of electrical balance of systems materials from initial request through purchase, shipment, receipt, and delivery. 


Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and procurement documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining vendor files and purchasing records.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve purchasing and inventory processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Travel Requirements

  • Travel periodically to warehouse locations and project sites to assist with inventory verification, material coordination, and procurement support activities as business needs require.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 0–2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, logistics, construction support, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for short-duration assignments as needed.


EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES

  • Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Experience with procurement, purchasing, logistics, inventory management, or construction support preferred. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records. 
  • Basic understanding of electrical materials, tools, equipment, and construction-related supplies preferred. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, project teams, and internal stakeholders. 
  • Strong teamwork mindset with a commitment to supporting project success.
