Job Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:  

  • Anticipates safety problems in work areas and takes immediate action to work with the area supervisors, team leads, department managers, and the J.H.S.C. to correct unsafe conditions or actions.

  • Responsible to ensure the proper handling, storage, and disposal of all chemicals, used materials and equipment.

  • Ensures employees are appropriately trained in recognizing hazards associated and specific to their job.

  • Discusses safety in team meetings, completes safety inspections on a routine basis, and ensures compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.

  • Assists in leading and supporting accident/incident investigations.

  • Assists in conducting risk assessment on new and/or modified equipment and/or processes.

  • Provides input on performance appraisals for workers' safety performance and corrects or commends health and safety performance.

  • Anticipates quality problems in work areas and takes immediate action to correct, contain, communicate, and prevent quality issues.

  • Identifies opportunities for common mistake proofing and continuous improvement.

  • Ensures all applicable quality policies and procedures are followed within the plant and direct accountability actions.

  • Ensures all employees on the off-shift maintain required training (completion of skill evaluations, required training completed, etc.)

  • Ensures all production key measurable targets are met or exceeded.

  • Form cross functional teams as required if any targets are not met, perform root cause analysis, and create an action plan to meet targets.

  • Lead Tier 3 meeting with all department leads on the off-shift to ensure all customer requirements are met and, as needed, escalate concerns to Department Managers.

  • Manage overtime costs by evaluating manpower needs and downtime.

  • Coach and mentor supervisors on employee performance concerns and provide support and guidance in regard to employee coaching and/or corrective actions.

  • Perform other duties as required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS ​

EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or a combination of an equivalent Technical Degree/Certification and experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE / TECHNICAL TRAINING: 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a Class-A automotive manufacturing environment required.

  • 3+ years of relevant prior supervisory/management experience of assembly Class-A automotive experience preferred.

  • Experience with SAP and advanced Excel skills is required.

  • Must have an understanding of production, tooling equipment, automation, and technology as it relates to the automotive industry.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Strong leadership skills
