Surgical Services – RN Ambulatory/PACU

Full Time – 72 hours/pay

Scheurer, a critical access rural hospital, is seeking a registered nurse to work as a full time employee in the Surgical Services Department. The Ambulatory Surgery RN is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in Surgical Services Ambulatory area for all patient populations. 

The responsibilities of the Surgical Services RN include but are not limited to:

  • Rotating through all specialties of Surgical Services (Ambulatory Surgery, Recovery Room) 
  • Preparing patients for surgery.
  • Collaboration and caring for the patient during their Operative episode. 
  • Verification of Universal Protocol
  • Giving SBARQ report 
  • Ensuring all specimens are handled correctly
  • Documentation on electronic record
  • Restocking supplies and care of equipment
  • Functioning as a team player
  • Recovering patients from surgery.
  • Discharging patients from Ambulatory Surgery

Requirements:

  • The candidate must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing 
  • Possess a current RN license from the Michigan State board of Nursing
  • Two years of perioperative nurse experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications must be obtained within one year of hire date if not already achieved
