Job Summary:
Centrus Energy is seeking senior field Construction Specialists that will plan and control field execution of facility modifications and new installations at the American Centrifuge Plant (ACP) on the DOE Portsmouth reservation in Piketon, Ohio. Projects are under NRC regulation, requiring rigorous safety, quality, and regulatory discipline in construction and turnover activities. This supports evolving mission needs and infrastructure changes across a range of potential enrichment and processing operations. Overall value of construction is estimated at over $1B in the next five years.

What You Will Do:
- Act as Subcontract Technical Representative for field construction contractors ensuring they meet contractual requirements to deliver assigned scopes of work
- Support project planning, included contracted scopes, cost, schedule, risks, and opportunities to construct the ACPx projects. Projects will include renovation of legacy and construction of new nuclear quality class structures
- Support constructability reviews of conceptual and detailed design outputs including statements of work (SOWs), specifications, and drawingsÂ
- Supports execution of design outputs via contracted companies into executable work deliverables including but not limited to permits, procedures, testing, hold points, and acceptance criteria. Sponsor team resolution of RFIs/RFCs, manage redlines, and drive as-built documentation to maintain configuration controlÂ
- Support or lead construction scopes administered via EPC and specialty contractors – monitor cost, schedule, and performance; enforce contract requirements; and manage change orders and progress verification
- Ensure group regulatory compliance during field execution that aligns with applicable codes/standards (e.g., NEC/NFPA/OSHA/IEEE), site procedures, and the ACP licensing/regulatory framework governing operations at PiketonÂ
- Champion safety first within construction staff including industrial and electrical safety (LO/TO, arc-flash controls) and DOE/nuclear-quality expectations during pre-job briefs, hazard analyses, and audits; verify contractor compliance and immediate corrective action for deficiencies
- Plan and witness construction tests, ensure punch-list completion, and coordinate functional testing/energization with operations to achieve Ready-for-Operations and clean handover packages
- Provide clear field status, risks, and mitigations to project managers and site leadership; coordinate interfaces with DOE/utility stakeholders as needed for power or site services
- Capture lessons learned and proposed procedural or design feedback to reduce rework and improve constructability on future ACP/HALEU scopes
We’d Love to Hear from People With:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or related) or Construction Management from an accredited institution and or equivalent field experience will be considered
- 5+ years in construction engineering role or field engineering role for industrial facilities (nuclear, chemical process, oil & gas, or large manufacturing), including oversight of contractors and multi-discipline field scopes
- Hands-on experience with work planning and approval documentation, QA/QC inspections, welding/mechanical/electrical installation oversight, and startup/commissioning support. Familiar with RFIs, NCRs, test plans, and as-built control
- Demonstrated collaboration with EPCs and vendors and familiarity with progress tracking, change control, and field estimatingÂ
- Working knowledge of DOE site operations or similarly regulated environments; ability to execute work consistent with ACP’s licensing basis and site proceduresÂ
- Practical application of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, IEEE/NEMA; strong safety leadership record supporting high-hazard work
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance
