Job Summary: 

As the Poker Room Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the poker room’s daily operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. You will lead a team of poker hosts, dealers, and support staff. You will also provide training, ensure compliance with gaming regulations, and deliver outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of poker games, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for creating an extraordinary player experience. 

 Essential Functions and Responsibilities  

  • Manage the daily operations of the poker room, including overseeing poker games, tournaments, and cash games.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor poker room staff, including poker hosts, dealers, and support staff, ensuring they provide excellent customer service and follow house rules.
  • Create and maintain a welcoming and professional environment for poker players, ensuring players have an enjoyable and positive experience.
  • Coordinate and oversee the scheduling of poker games and tournaments, including special events and promotions.
  • Monitor the integrity of the poker games, ensuring that all games are played fairly and according to company rules and regulations.
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and address issues to ensure player satisfaction.
  • Maintain a secure environment by ensuring compliance with gaming regulations and company policies.
  • Work closely with the casino management team to ensure the poker room meets revenue goals, operational standards, and overall business objectives.
  • Ensure that poker room equipment, such as chips, cards, and tables, are maintained and in good working condition.
  • Keep track of player ratings, rewards programs, and promotional events.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on poker room operations, including financials, game activity, and employee performance.
  • Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and training of new poker room staff.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, poker rules, and casino operations to bring new ideas and improvements to the poker room.
  • Collaborate with marketing and promotional teams to develop strategies for attracting and retaining players.

 QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in casino or poker room operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role Preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of poker games, poker tournament formats, and casino operations.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to train, motivate, and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of gaming regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency with poker room management software and casino systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Availability: Due to the nature of casino business demand patterns, this position will regularly include early morning, evening, weekend shifts and holidays as assigned work schedules including training and/or meetings.

  • Previous experience as a Poker Room Supervisor, Poker Manager, or similar role.
  • Certification in gaming operations or management (e.g., Gaming License, Gaming Management Certification).
  • Strong understanding of customer service and guest relations.
  • Maintain physical stamina and a proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrate keen observation skills to identify potential issues or opportunities. 
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and accurately report observations. 
  • Strong situational awareness to quickly assess and respond to changing environments.
