Description

Position Summary 

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that products manufactured by OCI-GMS, LLC meet established quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives by monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, documenting results, and collaborating with operations to resolve quality issues. 


Key Responsibilities 

Quality Inspection & Testing 

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections in accordance with quality plans, SOPs, and work instructions 
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using calibrated measuring tools 
  • Verify raw materials and finished goods meet internal and customer specifications 
  • Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials 

Documentation & Reporting 

  • Accurately complete inspection reports, checklists, and quality records 
  • Maintain traceability documentation and quality logs 
  • Assist with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) documentation 
  • Support internal and external audits as required 

Process & Compliance 

  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations 
  • Monitor production processes for adherence to specifications 
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation 
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives 

Collaboration 

  • Communicate quality issues clearly to production, engineering, and management teams 
  • Work with operators to promote quality awareness and best practices 
  • Assist in training production staff on quality standards when necessary 

Requirements

 Required Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or associate degree preferred 
  • 1–3 years of quality control or manufacturing experience preferred 
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, and work instructions 
  • Experience using basic inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) 
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy 
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, quality systems) 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in ISO-compliant manufacturing environments 
  • Familiarity with SPC, CAPA, and root cause analysis methods 
  • Prior experience in plastics, metals, packaging, or industrial manufacturing (if applicable to OCI-GMS operations) 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required 
  • Visual acuity sufficient for close inspection work 

Work Environment 

  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment 
  • Exposure to noise, machinery, weather conditions, and production materials 
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
