POSITION SPECIFICS
The Neuroethics Lab (PI: Laura Y. Cabrera, MA, PhD) in the College of Engineering at Penn State is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Scholar to join the lab in the field of neuroethics. The fellow will work on an NIH-funded project looking at ethical, legal and societal consideration of multimodal brain and behavioral data (including issues such as data sharing, consent, surveillance, privacy). The postdoctoral scholar will help with research (including literature reviews, analysis of policies, qualitative research); and will analyze these data to prepare manuscripts and presentations for national and international meetings.
The postdoctoral scholar will be able to participate fully in the life of the Lab and have access to relevant intellectual resources of the Penn State community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral-level degree in a relevant field, such as neuroethics, bioethics, sociology, bioethics. PhD’s preferred; JDs and MDs with relevant experience and/or training will be considered. Degree requirements must be met prior to the effective date of hire.
Interests in emerging brain technology, AI use in neuroscience and an aptitude for collaboration with neuroscientists and neuroengineers.
Excellent writing and communications skills.
Experience conducting qualitative and/or quantitative empirical research (i.e., interviews and/or surveys).
