Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detailed Vehicle Inspector to evaluate incoming and outgoing inventory. In this role, you will perform thorough mechanical, cosmetic, and safety assessments on trade-ins, auction buys, and lot inventory to ensure every vehicle meets our dealership's reconditioning and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive multi-point inspections on all incoming trade-ins, auction purchases, and current lot inventory.
Test drive vehicles under various conditions to evaluate engine performance, transmission, brakes, suspension, and overall driveability.
Identify mechanical issues, cosmetic damage, and necessary reconditioning or maintenance items; document findings clearly in detailed inspection reports.
Coordinate with our service and inventory teams to prioritize repair work orders and estimate reconditioning costs.
Verify that completed service repairs meet quality control and safety standards before cars are moved to the front lot.

Qualifications:

Automotive Experience: Proven experience inspecting, diagnosing, or servicing pre-owned vehicles (Required).
Driving Record: Valid Driver’s License with a clean, safe driving history (Required).
Strong working knowledge of vehicle mechanics, electrical systems, body condition, and diagnostic scan tools.
High attention to detail with the ability to write concise, accurate inspection logs.
Ability to work outdoors, maneuver vehicles, and stand, bend, or bend down for extended periods.
