Overview

Certified Medical Assistant/LPN/Clinic Tech to provide clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient delivery of patient care in a medical office.Ā  This position works closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assit with patient assessments, perform clinical procedures, maintain accurate medical records and promote a positive patient experience.Ā 


Responsibilities

  • Obtains vital signs and general health information for patient chart and prepares patients for examinationĀ 
  • Assists the provider as needed with examinations and proceduresĀ Ā 
  • Assists in the collection of laboratory specimens and performance of tests on patients as ordered by the provider
  • Ensures that equipment and other instruments are properly set up for the providers’ use Ā 
  • Ensures that all OSHA regulations and other appropriate policies are followedĀ Ā 
  • Serves as communication link between the patient and the providerĀ Ā 
  • Administers prescribed medications as directed and instructs patients on the proper use of each medication
  • Accurately and clearly communicates data to the appropriate healthcare provider in a timely manner
  • Enters and records patient information in EHR in a concise and accurate manner
  • Ensures that all test results, interpretations, etc. are received in patient EHR in a timely manner
  • In preparation for patient appointments, will contact facilities as necessary to ensure the appropriate paperwork is in the patient’s EMRĀ  prior to being seen by the provider – Examples: surgical reports, pathology reports, home health summary of care, etc.
  • Daily phone triage and follow up
  • Complete forms for patients in a timely manner

Qualifications

The following, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.Ā Ā 

Ā 

CMA -

Graduate of accredited program of Certified Medical Assistants.Ā  Current CMA License Required

Prefer at least one year of clinical experience in a surgical practice.

Ā 

LPN -

Graduate of accredited program of Licensed Practical Nurse. Current LPN License Required.

Prefer at least one year of clinical experience in a surgical practice.

Paramedic -

Current NC EMT-Paramedic Certification

Ā 

Surgical Technician-

Graduate of accredited Surgical Technician program.Ā  Certification must be current.
