SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to perform carpentry skills throughout the Pinehurst Resort, to include new construction, repairing broken or damaged woodwork.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED and a minimum of one month related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have 10 years experience as a general carpenter.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position involves driving a company vehicle and/or company insured vehicle.  A valid driver’s license is required, along with successful completion of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and annual MVRs, according to company guidelines.  Follow safe, defensive driving practices at all times, obey all traffic laws, regulations, signals and markings, use a seat belt, and follow Company policies and procedures, including the Substance Abuse Policy. Never drive while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications that may impair your ability to operate a vehicle safely, report any accidents immediately and cooperate fully with insurance claims investigations.
  • Must possess customer service skills, a high level of professionalism, and exceptional professional appearance.
  • Prepare job estimates, validate job costs, and purchase materials.
  • Carpentry skills must include rough work, finish work, and sheet rock installation and finishing.
  • Must read and comply with blueprints.
  • Renovate facilities as requested.
  • Work independently on job assignments and supervise work crews when assigned.
  • Build cabinets, shelves where needed.
  • Repair & refinish damaged furniture, shelves & cabinets.
  • Construct props.
  • Must provide your own hand tools.
  • Maintain resort roofing materials including asphalt, rubber and metal.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel and perform duties assigned by management.
