JOB SUMMARY
The Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging procedures to provide the interpreting Radiologist with accurate diagnostic information. This role includes gathering relevant patient history, ensuring high-quality imaging, maintaining equipment, and supporting patient comfort and safety throughout the exam process. This position is PRN.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for performing all patient ultrasound imaging procedures.
- Gathers patient history data and completes worksheets with exam findings for Radiologist.
- Performs general upkeep and housekeeping of exam rooms.
- Assists with imaging center workflow by helping with general duties as deemed necessary (burn discs with images etc.)
- Complete patient workups prior to scheduled appointments, including obtaining prior records, preparing charts, and verifying that orders and diagnoses are accurate and complete.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, radiologists, and clinic staff
- Train new Ultrasound technologists and/or support staff
- Document patient cancellations and relevant updates in the patient chart

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
- Active ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 1–2 years of ultrasound/sonography experience preferred
