JOB SUMMARY


The Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging procedures to provide the interpreting Radiologist with accurate diagnostic information. This role includes gathering relevant patient history, ensuring high-quality imaging, maintaining equipment, and supporting patient comfort and safety throughout the exam process. This position is PRN.

  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for performing all patient ultrasound imaging procedures.
  • Gathers patient history data and completes worksheets with exam findings for Radiologist.
  • Performs general upkeep and housekeeping of exam rooms.
  • Assists with imaging center workflow by helping with general duties as deemed necessary (burn discs with images etc.) 
  • Complete patient workups prior to scheduled appointments, including obtaining prior records, preparing charts, and verifying that orders and diagnoses are accurate and complete.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, radiologists, and clinic staff
  • Train new Ultrasound technologists and/or support staff
  • Document patient cancellations and relevant updates in the patient chart

Requirements


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Active ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification
  • Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • 1–2 years of ultrasound/sonography experience preferred
