JOB SUMMARY
The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures in a specialty outpatient surgical clinic setting. This role ensures high-quality imaging, regulatory compliance, equipment functionality, and accurate documentation to support safe and efficient patient care. Â The Technologist collaborates with physicians and clinical staff to deliver timely imaging services while maintaining radiation safety standards and operational consistency.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnostic Imaging & Patient Care
- Prepare patients and verify imaging orders in the EMR
- Perform diagnostic radiographic exams using proper positioning and technique
- Operate and assist with C-arm procedures as indicated
- Ensure images meet quality and diagnostic standards
- Transmit images accurately to PACS
Equipment & Room Management
- Maintain clean, stocked, and functional imaging rooms
- Disinfect imaging equipment in accordance with infection control standards
- Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs
- Monitor radiation safety compliance and shielding practice
Workflow & Administrative Support
- Enter imaging charges and ensure documentation supports billing compliance
- Process CDs, image releases, and outside imaging records
- Support appointment efficiency and accommodate walk-in imaging when appropriate
- Communicate effectively with physicians and clinic staff regarding imaging needs
Safety & Compliance
- Comply with state radiation safety regulations and ARRT standards
- Adhere to infection control, OSHA, and clinic safety policies
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required
- Current state licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or state-required certification)
- Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control practices
- Experience with digital imaging systems and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) preferred
- Ability to operate radiographic equipment and perform routine maintenance checks
- Basic computer proficiency for EMR documentation and charge entry
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move and position patients, and lift equipment as needed
