Director of Nursing (DON)

Pinetown, NC | Full Time

A skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Pinetown, NC is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead its nursing department and help ensure high-quality resident care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong nursing leader who is committed to clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, staff development, and creating a positive culture of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the nursing department.
  • Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.
  • Supervise and support nursing staff and department leadership.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes, quality measures, and resident care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, recruitment, and retention.
  • Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Prepare for and participate in state and federal surveys.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

  • Current North Carolina RN license required.
  • Previous DON, ADON, or nursing leadership experience preferred.
  • Skilled nursing or long-term care experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead and develop a nursing team.
