Summary
The Vice President of Manufacturing provides strategic leadership and oversight of multi-site manufacturing and distribution operations, working closely with store and operations managers to align manufacturing capabilities with company-wide goals performance metrics, and customer expectations. Additionally, this leader develops high-performing teams, strengthens operational capabilities, and ensures compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Â
- Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight of all manufacturing, distribution, and operational functions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, safety standards, and customer expectations.Â
- Drive operational excellence initiatives across multiple plants and departments
- Develop and mentor a high-performing manufacturing leadership team, providing guidance and succession planning.
- Partner with Human Resources on workforce planning, labor strategy, leadership development, performance management, and policy implementation.Â
- Develop and execute operational strategies that support growth, scalability, and competitiveness in the building supply and construction materials market.Â
- Support compliance with all applicable quality, health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.Â
- Support financial and operational performance by monitoring and providing insights on manufacturing efficiency, quality, cost structure, asset utilization, procurement effectiveness, and inventory optimization.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Bistrack, Salesforce, Dynamics).
- Comfortable with public speaking and delivering presentations.
- Proven ability to plan, develop, and motivate a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to convey information clearly and professionally.
- Skilled at creating and delivering compelling presentations.
- Ability to function effectively as part of the senior management team and execute strategic initiatives.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to instill these qualities in others.
- Experience evaluating processes and procedures, recommending improvements, and coordinating implementation of new strategies.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required (B.S. or B.A.); advanced degree preferred.Â
- 10+ years of senior leadership experience in manufacturing operations, preferably within the building materials or construction supply industry.Â
- Proven ability to scale production capacity while maintaining quality, safety, and on‑time delivery performance.Â
- Experience leading multi‑site manufacturing operations and coordinating with distribution centers or warehouse networks.Â
- Strong supply chain expertise, including procurement strategy, vendor negotiations, raw material sourcing, logistics, and inventory management.Â
- Track record of leading cross‑functional teams across production, quality, engineering, and logistics.Â
- Experience implementing safety, compliance, and risk management programs aligned with OSHA and industry standards.Â
- Background in new product introduction (NPI), operational ramp‑ups, and manufacturing process scalability.Â

Work Environment
The employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and hear clearly. Frequent physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, and using hands and arms to perform job-related tasks.
