Summary:

This position performs testing and data collection on incoming raw materials and all finished products to ensure that they meet the required specifications before being released into the packaging department. 

 

Primary Duties:

  • Perform tests on every batch produced.  Ensure that they are performed in a timely fashion, and as efficiently as possible.
  • Keep Q.C. data in the computer and log book.
  • Use ONLY approved good quality products for packaging, and dispose of all non-conforming materials accordingly.
  • Re-test all returned product and other materials, and notify appropriate personnel at the earliest possible time.
  • Maintain all laboratory testing apparatus.  Periodic check for function and calibration.
  • Contact repair person for any equipment service or send to manufacturer, whichever applies.
  • Assist QC manager and department supervisors in root cause analysis and resolution of quality failures.
  • Assist QC manager in determining pre-production raw material adjustments to keep products in specification.

 

Non-Essential Duties:

  • Keep all batch retains in systematic order.
  • Close all production tickets in IFS.
  • Issue Certificate of Analysis to customers.
  • Prepare monthly Quality Summary Reports.
  • Clean all tools, materials used for testing.
  • Assist R & D with developmental products and other special projects.
  • Perform in-coming Quality Control as necessary.
  • Assist in production as work scheduling allows.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisor
  • Unloading of raw materials from railcars

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum of one (2) year related chemical lab experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
