Summary
LMS Platform Specialist Educational Technology is a temporary 12–18 month individual contributor role providing advanced technical expertise and system‑level oversight for the IEEE Learning Network (ILN, IEEE’s learning management system). Serves as a subject matter expert for complex troubleshooting, platform optimization, integrations, and process improvement. This role does not involve instructional design or content creation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead advanced troubleshooting and serve as escalation point for complex issues
Oversee platform integrations, enhancements, customizations, and maintenance
Coordinate requirements gathering, stakeholder communication, testing, and post‑release validation
Analyze usage data to identify trends, insights, and improvement opportunities
Lead UAT efforts, including script creation and validation coordination
Design and document system configurations to support business needs
Lead onboarding and implementation for new ILN partners
Maintain catalog records aligned with MARC standards
Research industry trends and recommend improvements to support and operations
Provide backup support to the Administrator
Contribute to additional Educational Activities projects as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
Required experience with LMS administration, educational technology, or technical support
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
Strong understanding of platform workflows, integrations, and system interactionsStrong analytical, documentation, and data validation abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strict attention to detail and excellent problem solver
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Experience with system integrations, SCORM standards, MARC records/KBART files, HTML/CSS, and/or JIRA is a plus
Experience translating business needs into technical requirements
Skilled in UAT script writing and execution a plus
