Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Operates, monitors, maintains, and repairs all refrigeration, heating, ventilating, air conditioning (RHVAC), and environmental control equipment for the hospital campus and selected off-site buildings.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visually inspects and monitors operations of RHVAC equipment daily and makes necessary adjustments and repairs; maintains preventive maintenance schedules as appropriate. Analyzes and trouble-shoots using proper data gathered from field experience, engineering manuals, blue prints and schematics. Calibrates, repairs, maintains, and operates RHVAC and all other associated equipment and systems. (65%)
  • Correctly records time and materials for all jobs performed. Places orders for replacement parts and filters as necessary. (5%)
  • Responds to emergency calls concerning RHVAC other associated equipment malfunctions and complaints. (25%)
  • Must demonstrate personal accountability for knowledge and application of DOH, Joint Commission and ICRA requirements. (5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • 3 years trade related experience
  • Must be able to read blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Must be available to work all shifts

Preferred

  • Stationary Engineer's License
  • Refrigerator Recovery Certification
  • Experience in an institutional setting
