Description

Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community offering top-quality care in a warm, welcoming environment—and we’re looking for a compassionate, skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our clinic team. The Clinic LPN will collaborate with medical providers, specialist and interdisciplinary teams to maintain efficient services to meet the needs of Galloway Ridge residents and employees in the onsite clinic. 


The clinic is open from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Mondays through Fridays. Ideally, this person will come in once a week and will fill in the gaps if someone is out of office. 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Hands-on Care Responsibilities: 

  • Gather/obtain relevant resident data (ex: vital signs, blood sugars, weights, heights) and present to medical providers at clinic during scheduled and acute visits. 
  • Assist residents as required during clinic visits. 
  • Provide nursing services as outlined by MD/NP orders in accordance with regulations, facility policies/procedures and per nursing standards of care. 
  • Enter MD orders into electronic record as required. Completes screenings for new hire candidates as required. Complete lab requisitions and other reports for completion of diagnostic testing. 
  • Assist with scheduling outside appointment to specialists, outpatient clinics, etc. Follow up on receipt of lab results, diagnostic testing, x-rays, scans, etc. and report findings to medical provider in a timely manner for optimal quality and care continuity.


Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Schedule appointments to equally distribute workload of providers and optimize efficiency of clinic while meeting needs and accommodating requests of residents. 
  • Utilize electronic scheduling system for optimal access with practitioners and nurses.  
  • Keep medical information up-to-date, accurate, and confidential. Document all communications with providers, residents and family members as well as services rendered into electronic record system. 
  • Complete billing logs/reports as required. 
  • Completes all necessary paperwork accurately and thoroughly.

Requirements

  • Valid NC LPN License 
  • Must have the following certifications: Basic Life Support, AED, and NCID
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and in a courteous, friendly manner. 
  • Must be able to use computer to complete and read electronic documentation and scheduling program.
  • Must have ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization exists.
  • Conflict resolution skills required.
  • PDSS and NCID required; can be obtained upon employment
