GENERALDESCRIPTION

The Marketing and Communication Specialist contributes to organizational storytelling efforts by developing written and visual content that engages patients, employees, and the communities CHC/SEK serves. This role is responsible for creating marketing materials, writing stories and other content, and coordinating social media and internal communications. The Specialist also supports website updates, photography, videography, and other marketing and communications needs.  

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Creates written and visual marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, rack cards, and other communications based on established strategy, brand standards, and messaging guidelines.
  2. Coordinates organizational social media accounts including, but not limited to, creating and maintaining content calendars, creating graphics and video content, writing captions, maintaining a positive online presence by monitoring accounts, and promptly responding to comments, messages, and reviews. 
  3. Contributes to storytelling efforts by writing stories that highlight employees, patients, and the organization’s impact. 
  4. Curates content for the weekly Bulletin internal newsletter and writes articles for the monthly Chronicles employee newsletter, with a focus on creating engaging content and fostering transparent communication.
  5. Monitors social media, website, and digital advertising performance metrics and prepares quarterly reports with insights and recommendations.
  6. Coordinates with external printers and vendors to ensure the successful production of materials.
  7. Captures high-quality photos for a variety of marketing needs.
  8. Supports website management by assisting with content updates.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphic communication, graphic design, or related field.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field.
  3. Healthcare marketing experience preferred.
  4. Must possess a valid driver’s license, as travel is required. Must maintain driving standards—no more than 2 minor or 1 major driving violations within a 3-year lookback period.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Adobe Creative Suite software; Canva; and social media platforms.
  2. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  3. Disciplined with strong time management skills; able to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. 
  4. Ability to adapt and respond effectively to changing priorities and time-sensitive requests.
  5. Strong writing skills for clear, concise, and engaging communication. Ability to write for various formats: articles, newsletters, emails, reports, and social media.
  6. Provide customer service in accordance to the organization’s mission.
  7. Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient-and employee-base.
  8. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance to organization’s policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements.
  9. Effective collaboration and communication within CHC/SEK and with the public, vendors, and partners.


 WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Primarily office-based work but expected to work in a variety of settings such as clinics, community locations, and/or venues.
  2. Prolonged periods of sitting, up to entire shift, regularly rotating between standing, walking, and sitting throughout the work shift.
  3. Regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting or moving of items up to 20 pounds. 
  4. May be required to carry and operate video and photography equipment for extended periods of time. 
  5. Occasionally required to climb ladders to obtain photographs or video footage. 
  6. Prolonged computer use is required, up to entire shift, including continuous, extended use of keyboarding, mouse use, and reaching. 
  7. Regularly required to professionally communicate with others through speaking and hearing clearly. Environment may have varying noise levels from very quiet to moderate.
  8. Requires close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus for computer work, photography, and videography. Must be able to decipher color hues for graphics, logo accuracy, etc..
  9. Works regularly in a high-demand, high-volume environment with urgent requests, frequent interruptions, and competing priorities. 
  10. Requires the ability to respond quickly to changing needs and solve problems under time constraints. 
  11. May have regular exposure to patients, visitors, or members of the public who may have communicable diseases. 
  12. Driving to and from CHC clinics, community locations, meetings, or vendors is often required. 
  13. Work may occasionally require flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, to support events, campaigns, or organizational activities. 
  14. Requires the ability to manage multiple marketing and communications projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
