How you’ll contribute 

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the physical therapist assistant provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function. 

Reports to: Director of Physical Therapy

 

A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) who excels in this role:

  • Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.
  • Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
  • Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
  • Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
  • Assists with patient discharge planning.
  • Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

What we’re looking for a licensed physical therapy assistant that is looking to make a positive impact in their community.

 

Applicants should have an associate’s degree/graduate of a physical therapy assistant program. Additional requirements include:

  • Active and valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of Kansas

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
