As an Electrical Engineer III/Senior, you’ll lead the design and optimization of electrical systems that power essential infrastructure—pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities. You’ll apply your technical expertise to integrate advanced technologies like automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage, driving efficiency and innovation across operations. A key part of your role is ensuring safety through the implementation of arc flash mitigation, fault detection systems, and rigorous compliance with regulatory and environmental standards. You’ll also manage complex projects from concept to completion, aligning engineering solutions with business goals and timelines. This is a high-impact role where your leadership and problem-solving skills will directly contribute to operational reliability, safety, and strategic growth.

This position will be based in Pittsburgh, PA for approximately the first two (2) years. Following this initial period and pending project status, the role is expected to relocate to either Tulsa, OK or Houston, TX based on business needs. Candidates must be willing and able to relocate as part of the role.

Responsibilities/Expectations: 

  • Leads the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks supporting critical infrastructure such as pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities 

  • Champions the integration of advanced technologies including automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage to enhance system performance and reduce operational costs 

  • Implements robust safety measures such as arc flash mitigation and fault detection systems to protect personnel and ensure infrastructure reliability 

  • Provides technical expertise in power distribution, electrical schematics, and system layouts for both new construction and upgrades to existing facilities 

  • Manages complex engineering projects from concept to completion ensuring alignment with business goals timelines and budget constraints 

  • Ensures compliance with all relevant safety, environmental and regulatory standards across electrical systems and project execution 

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet internal and external customer needs 

  • Mentors and supports the development of junior engineers fostering technical growth knowledge sharing and a culture of continuous improvement 

  • Understanding of power system design, analysis, and simulation (e.g., ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink or similar tools)
  • Knowledge of high-voltage equipment, transformers, generators, and switchgear
  • Understanding of grid integration and renewable energy systems
  • Experience in managing procurement processes for electrical equipment and materials, with established industry contacts for sourcing reliable vendors and suppliers
  • Preferred: Experience in overseeing the (FAT) commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with design specifications
  • Other duties as assigned 

Education/Years of Experience: 

Senior:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited college or university in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and eight (8) years engineering experience in natural gas, data centers or related industry 

  • Preferred: PE License

  • Preferred: Master’s degree in electrical engineering 

III:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited college or university in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and eight (4) years engineering experience in natural gas, data centers or related industry 

  • Preferred: PE License

  • Preferred: Master’s degree in electrical engineering 

Job Requirements:  

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a   main priority 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills  

  • Proficiency in reviewing arc flash studies and implementing improvements 

  • Working knowledge of electrical design codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, etc.)  

  • Preferred: Experience with PLCs  

  • Preferred: Project Management experience  

  •  Preferred: Experience working in Preliminary-Front End Engineering and Design (Pre-FEED), Front End Engineering Design (FEED), or Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) of small to medium facility projects 

  • Preferred: Proficiency in designing, and implementing, Instrumentation systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems 

Shift/Work hours/Travel Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%
