A prominent, regional law firm headquartered in the Pittsburgh area is seeking a self-motivated Accounting Analyst to join its finance team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment centered around a client-focused approach.
Financial Reporting & GAAP Compliance: Prepare monthly ad hoc journal entries at a detailed level, ensuring full GAAP compliance.
Reconciliations & Reserves: Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations. Calculate, analyze, and recommend adjustments to financial reserves.
Multi-Entity Accounting: Ensure accurate accounting on both an accrual and cash basis across multiple legal entities.
Cash Management & Controls: Perform daily cash reconciliations of all bank activity and resolve discrepancies while maintaining and documenting strong internal controls.
Billing & Client Accounting: Generate, review, edit, and distribute monthly client pre-bills and final invoices. Provide client accruals, budget tracking, and regular status updates.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain transparent, efficient communication with internal stakeholders, vendors, facilities, and team members. Serve as a visible, approachable resource across the Firm.
Process Adherence: Follow company processes, controls, and policies across all aspects of the Accounting and Business Analyst functions to ensure high-quality, timely delivery.
Requirements
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; experience within a law firm or professional services organization preferred.
Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience with complex legal accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., Aderant Expert or similar).
Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of GAAP. Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Data & Analytics: Experience querying, extracting, and manipulating information from a data warehouse or business intelligence database solution is a strong plus.
