The Analyst - Variable Compensation is responsible for the preparation, coordination, calculation, and documentation of assigned variable pay programs. The Analyst extracts data from various systems and utilizes the data to determine incentive payments and is responsible for answering operational related questions and preparing analytics for leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Extract and prepare data from various sources and systems to facilitate variable compensation programs.
- Use prepared data to calculate various types of variable compensation payments.
- Provide analyses and recommendations based on gathered variable compensation data and other pertinent information.
- Provide guidance and support to sales managers and sales employees on reports, transactions, and variable pay programs.
- Respond to questions from Finance, sales leaders or managers regarding data used to calculate commissions.
- Identify issues and suggest courses of action.
- Work closely with corporate and business unit resources to support implementation of process improvements and best practices.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Record the necessary month end accruals and reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Business, finance, or accounting or related required
- 2 years of relevant work experience, specifically with large data sets
- Understanding of internal controls and SOX requirements.
- Strong overall business skills and common-sense approach to issues.
- Effective communication and presentation skills with ability to translate analytical data into easily understandable format.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Report writing experience is preferred.
